FALL HAS STARTED AT RESURRECTION LUTHERAN!  We welcome all who worship with us.  Sunday school starts the morning at 9:00am with worship at 10:00 AM.  Coffee fellowship follows the service so please come and join us. Watch the bulletin and narthex communications board for information, meetings and events.

WELCOME PASTOR BILL BUSCHBOM – We want to thank Pastor Bill for supplying while our Pastor is gone this weekend.

Pastor’s Schedule: Vacation Oct. 1-7.  Please welcome Pr. Bill Buschbom on Sunday Oct. 7th.  Bishop’s Convocation Oct. 8-11.  Pr. Dave Fulton is available for pastoral emergencies during this time.

NEW DISHWASHER – THANK YOU WELCA! A big thank you to the Women of the ELCA for purchasing our brand new church dishwasher.

CHOIR PRACTICE – Come and join the choir!  Every Thursday night, we have choir practice at 6:30 in the sanctuary.

SUNDAY SCHOOL HAS STARTED BUT NEVER TOO LATE TO JOIN US!  Sunday School is at 9am.  High Schoolers meet at the back of fellowship hall behind the dividers.  Coffee & Conversation for Adults meets in the Fellowship Hall and the younger groups- Preschoolers thru 8th grade meet in the classrooms.

TIME & TALENT SURVEY FORM – Please look at the form and let us know your talents.  We are still collecting them.

TODAY is LAST DAY!!!    PEANUT BUTTER DRIVE FOR CROPWALK During the month of Sept, we  collected peanut butter to help with “Ending Hunger-One Step at a Time Crop Hunger Walk.”

2018 CROP WALK is this afternoon Oct. 7th, starting at 2pm at Sedgwick County Park, check-in is at 1pm. You can choose to walk 3.46 miles or 1.86 mile distance.  https://www.crophungerwalk.org/wichitaks.  Let’s stop hunger and support our local community too.

ALTAR GUILD FUNDRAISERS Order forms and catalog are available.  Purchase a $30 Tillies monthly flower card and you can pick up fresh flowers at no cost every month for a year.  See Karen Vogt or Lydia Evans.

BIEROKS UPDATE- We are postponing bierocks to weekend of Nov 3rd -4th.

OCT 13 – ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI PET BLESSING 4:00pm.  Bring your pet to be blessed.  We will gather at the monument.

OKTOBERFEST FUNDRAISER – Oct 14th Join us next Sunday after service, the Property Committee is hosting Oktoberfest with funds going towards a new shed/storage.  Hot dogs, brats, sauerkraut, potato salad, and desserts.  Suggested donation of $5/person, $20/family.  Starting Sunday Oct 7th, you can place your bids on the silent auction baskets leading up to the Oktoberfest. The winners will be announced at the event.  Be sure to place your bids early and often and watch the auction over the next few weeks to ensure you win your favorite basket.

CONFIRMATION CLASS– starts Oct. 14th with dinner at 5:30pm provided by congregational members who have signed up.  Class ends at 7:30pm.   Confirmation is for 6-8th grade and 9th graders who will be confirmed at the end of the month.

HAYSVILLE FALLFEST PARADE – Oct. 20th - starts at 9am.  Line up at 8:30am at Haysville West Middle School walking to Haysville United Methodist.  We are collecting candy!  Theme: “Rockin with Pride!” Sign up for helping at a shift for our RLC booth is on the narthex shelf.

CANDY NEEDED! – We are collecting candy for two events. Oct. 20th Haysville Fall Fest Parade & Oct 31st Safe Trick or Treat on Main Street.  If you would like to donate money for candy, we can buy it too.

CHURCH CLEAN UP DAY – Oct. 27th Everyone is invited to come help make our church look wonderful.  Starting at 8AM.  Bring work gloves and any tools for outdoors.

The gatherings will be on Sunday afternoons from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. and will include: Intergenerational Activities/Mission Projects, Worship, Meal, Synod Updates, and viewing the Reformation 500 DVD.  On Monday morning, rostered ministers and Parish Ministry Associates are invited to meet with synod staff for Bible Study and Bagels from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. with a brief communion service to conclude the morning. The 2019 Synod Assembly will elect a Bishop for a six-year term.
