SUMMER SCHEDULE! Service starts at 9:00 am. No Sunday school during the summer.

SUMMER LUNCH WITH THE PASTOR – Sign up in the Narthex Hall to go have lunch with the pastor on the last Wed of the month - AUG 28th at 12:30, we will meet you at Village Inn Restaurant at 3535 S. Meridian Ave, Wichita, KS. A reminder that it’s free pie day too!
OFFICE HOURS AUG 5th - 9th Pastor Elizabeth will be attending the Church Wide Assembly so she won't be in the office that week. Monday Aug 5th - hours are 2-6pm. AUG. 8th - 9th OFFICE CLOSED Vicky will be gone on vacation so get your bulletin announcements & council packet minutes to her before Aug 7th.
BACKPACK BLESSING AUG. 18th We are blessing backpacks, lunch bags or workbags to start off the school year. Please bring your backpacks and adults can bring their workbags too.
WOMEN OF THE ELCA
CONVENTION AUGUST 16th – 18th
The theme of this year’s Central States Synod Women of the ELCA Convention is
“You are Wonderfully Made” The convention will be at the Holiday Inn East on
Kellogg and Rock Rd. If you plan to attend, we ask that you bring a much
needed item for MOSAIC – A Faith based organization who helps people with
intellectual disabilities. Items include: paper products, cleaning supplies,
Clorox wipes, windex, Lysol…also much needed personal hygiene items.
USED GLASSES - We are collecting eyeglasses for LIONS INTERNATIONAL and will take them to the WELCA convention in August.
SANDWICH SATURDAY AUG 24th We will gather at the church at 9:30am to assemble 200 PB&J sack lunches for distribution downtown that afternoon. Please come and help make sandwiches in the morning and help with this important ministry.
RLC YOUTH PRESENTS
MYSTERY DINNER THEATER: CUPCAKE CAPERS AUG 24th at 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
Adult Ticket $10 & Child under ten is $5.00. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Show
begins promptly at 6:00 p.m. A fundraiser for 2021 National Youth Gathering.
FIRST BIBLE CLASS – If your child is
ready to receive their first Bible, please sign up in the narthex hallway. If
there is enough interest, please attend classes with your child from 6-7:00pm
on Tue Sept 10, 17, 24, Oct 1 with presentation on Oct 6th during
service. (Deadline: Sept 1st)
CROP WALK OCT 6th. It is the 50th year for CROP Walks, about the 40th year for CROP Walks in Wichita.
MATCHING GIFT CHALLENGE To provide funding for the ELCA seminaries, First Lutheran Church of Topeka, KS is inviting us to participate in a Matching Gift Fund Challenge in an effort to raise $10,000 between now and Jan 31, 2020. To contribute to this fund, make checks payable to RLC with ELCA Seminaries in the memo.
THRIVENT For the first half of 2019 Thrivent members have designated $1,296 Thrivent Choice Dollars to RLC.
